Mighty Shrouded Mackinaw

Those days when visibility drops off tend to lead to some of the most interesting sights in our world. Below the mighty Mackinaw Bridge is shrouded in snow and fog. You can barely make out the vertical supports for the suspension cables.

Tropical Mackinaw

This is a view looking northward from under the Mackinaw Bridge. I shot this two weeks ago while visiting Mackinaw City.

Night in the Headlands

Here is another shot from the Headlands International Dark Sky Park, in northern Emmet County, Michigan.

I was shooting down towards the lake in the main viewing area of the park. Various groups of people including photography students, armature astronomers, and a church group were enjoying the night. It even seemed that we were gifted with a good number of shooting stars as well that evening.
