Our photo of the week for April 1st, 2016 is one from the archives. Pictured below is a rather rare Hummingbird Moth. These guys take a lot of patience and respect to capture. They fly in a similar manner to hummingbirds, including the noise of one and the hovering capability. Here one is procuring the nectar from a flower in Ludington. Being extremely fast in flight with short to non-existent attention spans capturing one in detail proved rather difficult. You can see this week’s photo on display at the Glass Lakes Photography gallery located at 310 Howard St. in Downtown Petoskey.
