Tropical Mackinaw

This is a view looking northward from under the Mackinaw Bridge. I shot this two weeks ago while visiting Mackinaw City.

It has been a fun past few days, I have been fairly engaged to the production of work then the publication of such. So soon to come, a stunning shot of the Mackinaw Bridge, and more kids playing with nature from a Little Traverse Conservancy educational program yesterday. So, as soon as I can get back to my computer at the art centre, you can have something to look at!

So, until then I shall leave you with this tidbit:

Over all it was a fun trip, stay tuned for more adventures and photographs!

Blossoms and explorations to come

As the blossoms come out in full force we see all types of plant life waking up. It seemed that everything int he yard shot up overnight. There are flowering tulips, and many others whom we have yet to identify. Today I will be taking to the north again in the attempts to craft more images for you all. Enjoy!

Cloud Chasing

A couple nights ago we had a good storm system blow through the Petoskey area. I went out in an attempt to capture some lightning and storm clouds. Unfortunately I was not able to get a good position during this campaign. I may have tried a little to hard, but oh well. When shooting storm systems you have to be in front of it, to the side, or behind it. Trying to shoot while under it is counter productive and all you will get is rain, hail, or lightning. I wound up being over run while searching for a better spot to shoot. But here is an interesting shot from between the storm cells. I was off of M-119 overlooking the airport in Harbor Springs.

Today there are some interesting clouds out, how are you shooting them? Here I used a super wide angle lens, note the distortionary effects on the horizon line.
