When the winds blow from the northerly direction the water accumulates in the Neuse River and mild flooding occurs. Here, on Hodges Street flooding is common during storms and most times when there is a northeasterly wind. The water in this photograph was part of the storm surge from Tropical Storm Ophelia. There is a lot of local traffic which will brave the salty flood waters.
